Self Love Isn't Selfish

➡️🙅🏼‍♀️ 3 years ago I was burnt out working full-time in an office as a Marketing Coordinator. It was a great job, I made good money, had great coworkers, and I learned a lot about events and marketing, but I came home every day feeling TIRED, UNINSPIRED, and UNFULFILLED.

💖 I decided to change that.

Remember: You create the life you want to live.✨

3 Times I Turned a NO Into a YES

💭Sometimes it’s so easy to get discouraged by the word “No.” But, it’s really all about how you look at it.⁣⠀

“No” can mean, “not right now.” No can also mean “this is not for you” or “there is something greater for you.”✨⁣⠀

➡️There have been so many times I’ve been turned down from a job or audition.

🦋Here are 3 examples that stick out in my mind that have actually led to a YES to better my life.

Accidental Resolutions

I wanted to start off 2018 with a BANG! I'm someone who gets excited at the start of a new year, but I don't always make resolutions or set specific goals for myself. If I want something, my motto is usually, "I'll figure it out." And I always do! However, this year I wanted my focus to be different and intentional. I want to fulfill all my goals.

Patience is a Virtue

I was scrolling through Instagram this morning as a usually do and I came across a fitness model's page who is also a realtor. I looked at her page for one second and thought to myself, "I bet I could be a realtor. I'm going to look into what it takes to be a realtor." Then I paused, and thought, "Hold on, Christie. BE PATIENT. What you're doing right now is perfectly you, and you need to be patient."

I have this mind set where I can do anything I put my mind to. I really believe that! Which is great, but sometimes I need to slow down, stop and smell the coffee(?), and just be completely content with where I am right this very moment. Because what I'm doing right now is pretty damn great. The grass is greener where you water it. If I'm jumping around and getting into everything, I won't be able to focus on the things that really matter to me and help those things flourish. My boyfriend will be the FIRST person to tell me, "be patient," and he says it in the most loving way possible. I have to admit that he's right!

It's not about who can be successful the fastest, or who makes the most money, or who does the most fun things, or who has the best highlight reel on Instagram. It's about being patient and taking the path that you know is BEST for YOU. And being 110% confident in your own individual path.

Weekend Essentials 🌸

Happy Saturday! I hope everyone had a fulfilling week and has a weekend full of fun activities ahead! I posted on my @christieglow Instagram (my new Instagram dedicated to inspiration, style, beauty, and skincare) about my favorite weekend products. Here's a closer look at each product and why I love them.

Rodan + Fields Unblemish Acne Treatment Sulfur Wash: I recently started using this facewash and I'm already obsessed! I can feel it actively working on my skin while I'm washing my face. The consistency is really smooth & it has this really cool purple tint to it. After a week of using this face wash my acne has noticeably subsided and my red spots from acne are fading! Which is really exciting. Here are the facts on this products- Unclog pores and reduce visible redness caused by adult acne with UNBLEMISH Acne Treatment Sulfur Wash. This medicated 3% Sulfur cleanser goes deep into your pores for maximum benefits. Click the link to purchase the face wash from my personal R+F Consultant website. Contact me for any questions!

Rodan + Fields Enhancements Lash Boost: This is one of the coolest enhancement products I have come across! I've seen AMAZING results from this product on other clients, so I can't WAIT to see how my lashes look in 30 days. I've been using this product for about a week. It's SUPER easy to use, it's a clear consistency, and incredibly smooth. You swipe one stroke across your lashes and then head to bed. You can hardly feel is on your eyes and it doesn't get into your eyes! My lashes are already pretty long, but I'm excited to see how they look after using #lashboost. I've considered paying for false lash extensions in the past, but after using this product I'm hoping I will never have to. Click the link to purchase lash boost from my personal R+F Consultant website or contact me directly to find out how to receive $20 off your order.

Rodan + Fields Redefine Night Renewing Serum: The night renewing serum is individually packaged in small metallic blue tablets as seen in the picture. I love this serum because you can immediately feel a difference in the texture of your skin the morning after you apply the serum. I can tell my skin is smoother and firmer, and this is after ONE NIGHT of use! Talk about fast acting. The serum promises to visibly improve skin texture and firmness and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. I'm trying to stay as young as possible for as long as possible. I find this serum is best used with the AMP MD System which includes the Roller. Click the link to purchase the Redefine Night Renewing Serum or contact me directly to find out how to receive $20 off your order and free shipping.

Hello Beautiful Ultra Shea Body Cream: I received this body cream from my Wizard Girl buddy for our Holiday gift exchange! I've always loved bath & body works products! They smell so yummy and leave your skin feeling nice and smooth. The scent stays with you for hours. This is the perfect spring smell, but also moisturizes heavily. It's perfect for dry skin.

Amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo: I received this in my Birchbox subscription! I'm obsessed with Birchbox, I should probably do an entire post on Birchbox soon. The dry shampoo smells like berry, and gives your hair total revival. It almost acts as a texturing spray as well. I like to spray dry shampoo really close to my roots, but with this spray you need to put a couple inches inbetween the spout and your scalp. I definitely recommend this dry shampoo. The travel size is really convenient to store in your purse, make up bag, take to events, etc.

Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Pallet: I LOVE this eye shadow pallet! I love Urban Decay's eye shadow pallets, but this is my favorite pallet. Naked 2 and Naked come in close 2nd and 3rd, but this one takes the cake. The colors are a mix between very natural, matte, shimmer, and a few wild colors. I sway more towards the nude, tan, and pink colors. This pallet is PERFECT for game days and every day wear. My favorite colors in the pallet are blonde. skimp, steady, stark, and zone. Unfortunately I don't believe this is in stock at Urban Decay anymore, but you can find it on Amazon.

Make Up Forever Duo Mat Powder Foundation: I love this foundation because you can wear it every day or layer it to wear for special events. I apply the powder with a make up brush to my skin for every day use. I wear it to teach Flybarre, choreography, teach dance, go to the grocery store, etc. I also use this mat powder as a finishing touch when I'm applying make up for game day or special events. Usually I pair it with Make Up Forever Mat Velvet Matifying Foundation on game days for full coverage. I tend to sweat and "shine" when I dance, so I stick to the matte foundations to control that shine. I wear the Duo Mat Powder Foundation in Shade 209.

Best Make Up For Acne Prone Skin  - http://www.balancemebeautiful.com/best-makeup-removers-acne-prone-skin/

Benefit Cosmetics They're Real: This is my favorite mascara of all time! It makes my eyelashes SOOO INCREDIBLY LONG!!! The formula is made for you to be able to layer and layer and layer on your lashes without any clumps. Pretty incredible!! I can't wait to see what this looks like on me after I use the lash boost for 30 days too. Transformation photos coming soon. If you're balling on a budget, like me, the Covergirl Full Lash Bloom gives very similar results and can be purchased at any drug store. It's the lash blast mascara in the pink tube :)

Boxer Braids

I taught myself how to french braid my hair back in middle school, but the reason why I've been so late to the braid party is because I find them to be a little intimidating. All of the braid posts on Instagram are sooo incredibly perfect, well put together, and there's not a single whispy or loose hair in sight! Today I decided, what the heck, I'll try it :)
