FAKE IT TIL YOU MAKE IT

This post is all about CONFIDENCE. You can apply "fake it til you make it (or believe it)" to anything in life-- going for your dream job, auditioning for a dance team, presenting a project, performing at a huge event, wearing a tight dress, etc, etc.

Here are 3 reasons how this motto helps me exude confidence.

1. SELF SABOTAGE IS A B*TCH

What does "fake it til you make it" even mean? When I say fake it, I don't mean fake who you are. I want you to be 110% yourself. If you are nervous or if you are having self doubt, you have to zap those negative feelings. NO NST (Negative Self-Talk). That's what I mean when I say fake it. Make yourself believe you are incredibly confident, visualize yourself succeeding, repeat a positive motto, or only accept positive vibes. Every time I have an ounce of self doubt, it's almost 99% sure that I lose whatever I'm doubting myself about. Without even knowing for sure, I know that I've already lost that job, or didn't make the final cut, or wasn't chosen for that amazing opportunity because I've already put that negativity out in the Universe. It's happened too many times. It's not always easy, but you have to fill your mind with positive thoughts and encouragement. Don't let yourself be in the way of your dreams. Keep your blinders on (forget the haters) and keep cheering yourself on!

2. IF YOU BELIEVE IT, YOU WILL BECOME IT

Once you start thinking positive thoughts, you will start believing more and more in yourself and your dreams and goals. If you believe you can achieve something, whatever it is, more often than not you WILL achieve it. If you don't achieve it right away, you'll still be on the right path. I BELIEVED in my heart that I could be an NBA dancer, and it took a couple of tries and tribulations, and a couple "no's" before I got a YES. At the time I was upset that I was denied, but I had to keep believing in myself and keep trying, and everything worked out even better than what I dreamed of. If you want it, you can achieve it. If you believe it and work really hard, you WILL achieve it. I practice using active language, using words such as "I will get this job...." instead of "If I get this job...." Keep believing in yourself and you will achieve all of your beliefs!

3. CONFIDENCE IS KEY

Once you trick yourself into being confident, it will come more naturally to you. The next time you decide to go for a promotion or speak to over 100 people, it will be a little easier. The first couple of times I taught Flybarre, I was so nervous!! My thoughts were every where!!! What if no one likes my class? What if I count on the wrong beat? What if this, what if that? Well guess what? 6 months later I feel WAY more confident in my teaching ability and my class. I still have so much room to grow and get better (there's always room for growth), but I'm very confident in where I'm at in this current moment. The more you practice confidence, the easier it will get!! No one is born a professional, it take a lot of hard work, practice, and discipline to get there.

I hope something in this post resonates with you!! <3 Let me know if there are any topics you'd like to hear me post on!
