I'm DEFINITELY behind on this boxer braid trend. For some reason I decided to give it a try today. It was a lot easier than I thought it would be!
I taught myself how to french braid my hair back in middle school, but the reason why I've been so late to the braid party is because I find them to be a little intimidating. All of the braid posts on Instagram are sooo incredibly perfect, well put together, and there's not a single whispy or loose hair in sight! Today I decided, what the heck, I'll try it :)
I started by sectioning my hair into two parts with one part down the middle. I tied one side in a ponytail and began braiding the other side, pulling little sections of hair into the braid. I kept each section of my hair pulled tight until ready to tie a hair band around the end. Before I knew it I had two braids "boxer braids" on my head. I think this time I started a little too close to my scalp so I'll know next time to start further down my head
I was a little intimidated to start braiding, but it actually turned out to be really fun! Another reason why I truly believe you can do anything you set your mind to! :) Even if it is a simple task like braiding your hair.
The thing I liked best about the braids is that they stayed put all day. I even went to the gym to dance and record "How to do a Kip Up," and then taught two Flybarre classes.
My top tips: Pull your braids really tight so they look nice & neat and keep a brush on hand, just in case your start to get tangles in your hair.
